Aaron Sverdlov: Beyond the Traditional Triad of Oncologist–Cardiologist–Haematologist in Cardio-Oncology Care
Aaron Sverdlov, Professor and Director of Heart Failure at Newcastle University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Very proud to present a review paper led by our PhD student and pharmacist, Joshua Bennetts on the importance of multidisciplinary team care in cardiooncology
As cancer survival rates improve, the challenge of cancer therapy-related cardiovascular toxicity (CTR-CVT) grows. In this paper, we go beyond the traditional triad of oncologist–cardiologist–haematologist to highlight the critical and underappreciated roles of pharmacists, nurses, and allied health professionals in cardio-oncology care.
We explore models of care, regional and telemedicine solutions, and future directions in workforce development—especially around education and training for non-physician members of the cardio-oncology team.
This work reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing integrated, patient-centred care in cardio-oncology.
Congratulations to Joshua Bennetts, Doan Ngo, Susan Dent, Trent Williams, Craig Beavers, Heather Moore, Cameron Robson and the rest of our amazing multidisciplinary team.”
