Mina L. Xu: The power of Hi-C genomic analysis in uncovering lymphoma biology
Mina L. Xu, Professor of Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, made the following post on X:
“Excited to share our new paper in British Journal of Haematology showing the power of Hi-C genomic analysis in uncovering lymphoma biology. Hi-C allows for discovery of chromatin structure in addition to genomic sequences.
We demonstrate tumor that was morphologically consistent with IRF4-rearranged large B-cell lymphoma. However, FISH was negative, due to a deletion. Given histologic, phenotypic and clinical evidence, patient was treated as IRF4-rearranged LBL.
Using Hi-C, we later uncovered the rearrangement. This technology is compelling for practicing diagnosticians faced with complex or conflicting data and researchers interested in unveiling lymphoma biology.”
