Angela Mastronuzzi: This literature review shows that targeted therapy is a feasible approach for pediatric low-grade gliomas.

“My teams recently published paper:
‘Unlocking the power of precision medicine for pediatric low-grade gliomas: molecular characterization for targeted therapies with enhanced safety and efficacy.’
This literature review shows that targeted therapy is a feasible approach for pLGGs. Advances in cancer therapies have significantly improved treatment and outcomes for patients, but can lead to a number of toxicities, which are related to a negative impact on their long-term health as well as quality of life.
A greater understanding of tumor biology and a germline and somatic genomic approach will play a central role in the therapy strategy of pLGG for the development of increasingly tailored therapies.”
