“Thrilled to share our lab’s latest research on multiomics and spatial mapping of immunotherapy responses in kidney cancer patients in Nature Medicine.

We found that heritable and spatial immunogenic traits co-predict the efficacy of immunotherapy in kidney cancer patients.
An artificial intelligence or machine learning-derived gene signature, integrating germline HLA characteristics with a distinct spatial community of CD8+T cells and tumor-associated macrophages showing immunogenic interactions, predicts response to immunotherapy in patients with advanced kidney cancer.
Our biomarker works in both controlled clinical trials as well as real-world patient cohort, which emphasizes its clinical readiness and utility potential.
We also demonstrate how our biomarker can be used for discovery of new immunotherapy targets or for informing new combinatorial therapy designs!
