Onyinye Balogun: I’m excited to share Fiyinfolu Balogun and my passion project – The Onc Docs podcast
Onyinye Balogun, Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College and Co-Founder of Mission-Driven Tech, shared on LinkedIn:
“What’s better than 1 oncologist? Two!
I’m excited to share Fiyinfolu Balogun and my passion project – The Onc Docs podcast.
Black people are disproportionately burdened by cancer due to higher incidence and mortality levels across multiple cancer types. Yet, our stories are rarely represented in media.
We formed our podcast, The Onc Docs, to highlight the (under-told) stories of Black individuals with cancer and to provide education about cancer from trusted, expert oncologists.
Yesterday, we kicked off our new season with Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, acclaimed author of ‘How to Be an Antiracist’, most recently ‘Barracoon’ and many other bestsellers, during National Minority Cancer Awareness Week! We are so grateful that Dr. Kendi and his team made this conversation possible.
Visit our website to hear Dr. Kendi’s experience as a 6-year Stage IV colon cancer survivor diagnosed at 35 years old and his vision for an antiracist approach to cancer care. Or tune in via your favorite podcast platform. Also check out our other episodes and subscribe to be notified when new episodes are released.
Visit here to learn more about colorectal cancer and its rise among young adults and Black individuals.
Thanks in advance for your support and please share your thoughts/feedback.”
