Natalia Baran: Great work coauthored by Bofei Wang and Patrick Reville unravels a role of IFNγ interplay in AML

Natalia Baran, Research Assistant Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“Hot off the press in Nature Communication Springer Nature Group.
Great work coauthored by Bofei Wang and Patrick Reville, MD, MPH and fantastic team of colleagues from Hussein Abbas lab and collaborators, unravels a role of interferon-gamma (IFNγ) interplay in AML. They identified monocytic AML as having a unique microenvironment characterized by IFNγ producing T cells and NK cells, high IFNγ signaling, and immunosuppressive features. They demonstrated that IFNγ signaling strongly correlates with resistance to venetoclax treatment in ex vivo primary AML patient cells, that IFNγ led to increased venetoclax resistance, and they provided a parsimonious 47-gene IFNγ score with robust prognostic value for patients evaluation prior treatment. So proud to be a part of this amazing collaboration!! Congratulations to the entire team!!!!”
