“Dear Colleagues, dear friends,
The ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology advanced course on early stage non-small-cell lung cancer is approaching fast!! Together with my co-host Dr Helena Linardou we are thrilled to bring this amazing event to Athens and co-chair with Peters Solange, Professor of Oncology at the CHUV | Lausanne university hospital.
We are also exited to have with us a stellar, multidisciplinary European Faculty : Anne-Marie Dingemans from Erasmus MC in the Netherlands , Noemi Reguart, MD, PhD from Hospital Clínic de Barcelona, Spain, Jarushka Naidoo from Beaumont RCSI Cancer Centre , Ireland, Egbert Smit from Leiden University in Netherlands, Jordi Remon form Institut Gustave Roussy, France, Lizza Hendriks from Maastricht University, The Netherlands , Paul Van Schil from ANTWERP MEDICAL CENTER in Belgium and Suresh Senan from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) in the Netherlands.
Most importantly, we have a multidisciplinary group of approximately 80 participants (Medical Oncologists, Clinical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, Pneumonologists and Thoracic Surgeons) who will attend the session, coming from all European countries and especially south-east Europe, the Balkans and the Mediterranean countries from three continents.
The hot topics of this masterclass include Environmental carcinogenesis, screening, pathology and molecular biology, surgical considerations, preoperative immunotherapy and targeted strategies, management of inoperable stage III disease, management of primary and secondary immunotherapy resistance and implications on clinical trial design and future research.
Last but not least, on the second day of the program we will hold two interactive sessions with active participance of the trainees, featuring a real MDT discussion and a session on the optimal use of biomarkers. You can find the full agenda of the program here.
We are grateful to ESMO – European Society for Medical Oncology for this great opportunity (many thanks to Chiara Doimo for the excellent organization) and we look forward to welcome all of you in beautiful Spring Athens!!”
