Hanna Tolonen: The future of global health depends on WHO’s ability to continue its crucial work
Hanna Tolonen, Director of Research of Development and Innovation at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper by Mika Salminen et al. published in The Lancet:
“After USA’s decision to withdraw from WHO, the stakes are high: the future of global health depends on WHO’s ability to continue its crucial work for global public health.
Europe, therefore, has an opportunity to ensure that WHO stays strong and functional in the years to come. It is, in the end, a quite cheap insurance policy for us all.”
“The urgent need to protect WHO is also an opportunity”
