We are proud to announce that the Oncology Clinic at Clinical center University of Sarajevo has been selected to join INTERACT-EUROPE 100, a groundbreaking initiative led by the European Cancer Organisation (ECO) and co-funded by the EU4Health program.
This project focuses on advancing multidisciplinary cancer care through specialized training, fostering collaboration among oncology professionals, and improving patient outcomes.
We thank our dedicated team for achieving this milestone and look forward to contributing to the future of oncology in Europe.”
The Clinical Center University of Sarajevo is recognized as a leading professional, scientific, and educational health institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The center employs a highly qualified staff of 713 doctors, 544 of whom are specialists. Among the employees, 36 are University Professors, and 31 are Assistant Professors. Additionally, 101 staff members have completed a Ph.D., and 122 hold an MSc degree.
This highlights the Center’s significant role as a teaching hospital in the country.
The Oncology Division, a key component of the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, stands as the only comprehensive oncology center in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It provides the most advanced treatments available, including systemic therapy, surgery, and radiotherapy, ensuring that patients receive the highest standard of care.
INTERACT-EUROPE 100 (IMABARK100) is an initiative aimed at enhancing cancer care across Europe by fostering collaboration among healthcare professionals.
Building on the success of the original INTERACT-EUROPE project, it provides Inter-specialty Cancer Training (ISCT) across 100 cancer centers, integrating new modules focused on paediatric oncology and the specific needs of displaced people with cancer, particularly those from Ukraine.
By breaking down medical silos and strengthening teamwork between specialties, the project seeks to improve patient outcomes and align with the European Code of Cancer Practice, ensuring a holistic, patient-centered approach to cancer treatment.
