2023 edition recommendations for the Global Curriculum for Training in Medical Oncology – ESMO

Quoting the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) on LinkedIn:

“ESMO and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) have released the 2023 edition of their joint recommendations for the Global Curriculum for Training in Medical Oncology, which sets common standards in guiding the training of medical oncologists worldwide:

• Reviewed since the 2016 edition to cover the multitude of new therapeutic options and advances and the opportunities and challenges that come with them.
• New chapter on translational and clinical research, research ethics, and statistics.
• New chapters on cancer control policies and emergencies, with sections on cancer care equity principles and barriers to cancer care delivery.
• New format based on three key didactic principles to help trainers and trainees.
