Jayant Vaidya: Receiving TARGIT-IORT while asleep during surgery
Jayant Vaidya, professor of surgery and oncology at the University College London, shared a post on X:
“UK patients with breast cancer perceive even 5-day post-op radiotherapy as being greatly disruptive. They prefer receiving TARGIT-IORT while they are asleep during surgery – it gives them the feeling of stamping out the cancer without conscious awareness.
