Anna Cabanes: The role of civil society in the implementation of WHO GBCI
Anna Cabanes, Co-Founder of Onconecta, shared on LinkedIn:
“Civil society has been a powerful force in advancing breast cancer control, playing critical roles in support, awareness-raising, stigma reduction, public education, and fundraising.
With their deep knowledge of community needs and high levels of trust, they are key stakeholders in the GBCI, alongside governments, healthcare professionals, and communities.
We asked a group of breast cancer clinicians, policymakers, patients, advocates, and caregivers from Southeast Asia to identify the needs of CSOs to effectively support the domestic implementation of GBCI principles and strategies. This paper summarizes their responses.”
