“I am pleased to share this State-of-the Art Review ‘Harnessing artificial intelligence for prostate cancer management’ published in Cell Reports Medicine. Great honor to be part of the team!

Take home message:

  • This review provides an overview of the current developments and applications of AI in Prostate Cancer management. One promising direction for future research is to predict molecular subtype based on pathology images or combining it with other omics techniques for precise diagnosis and treatment recommendations.
  • Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT hold promise for clinical implementation. Drawing from its success in other fields, tools such as ChatGPT can be fine-tuned for specific tasks in Prostate cancer management, such as simplifying pathology reports for patient understanding.
  • Integrating patient histories with WSIs for diagnosis and treatment recommendations is also feasible with updated multimodal analysis capabilities. However, careful evaluation is necessary to avoid hype.”
