Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: By expanding program to Africa UICC has shown its commitment to being an inclusive organization
Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, shared a post by UICC, on X, adding:
”As an active member of UICC that has served 3 terms on the board (a total of 6 years) and operating from an LMIC country, the issue most often presented to me by members here is that of cost.
By expanding this program to Africa and on boarding 5 new patient groups as members, as well as offering them a cost free chance to attend WCC 2024 in Geneva, UICC has shown its commitment to being an inclusive organization, closing the care gap, having significant value add, and fulfilling its founding objectives.
Congratulations to Teal Sisters Foundation Zambia, KILELE Health, Nest of Hope Community, Action Against Cancer.”
Quoting UICC‘s post:
“Thrilled to announce the expansion of our Patient Group Mentoring programme to Africa! This initiative, already active in the Eastern Mediterranean and Asia-Pacific regions, aims to empower patient organisations with tailored mentorship and support.”
