“This content is intended for US audiences only.
AstraZeneca has been leading the charge in transforming outcomes for people facing gastric cancers. We’re proud to announce positive high-level results from the CLARITY-Gastric01 Phase III trial in patients with locally advanced or metastatic gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) cancer, or esophageal adenocarcinoma with Claudin 18.2 (CLDN18.2) expression.
Because most patients are diagnosed in the advanced stages, prognosis remains poor for gastric cancers. Focusing on specific biomarkers, like CLDN18.2, has enabled us to treat cancers more precisely and expand treatment options – an urgent need for the gastric cancer community.
We’re relentlessly pursuing new modalities and reshaping cancer care, with the goal of advancing precision medicines that improve patient outcomes. Today’s news is an encouraging sign that our approach may benefit more people with gastric cancers. We’ll share the full study results at an upcoming medical conference.
