BeOne Medicines has entered into a voluntary agreement with the U.S. government aimed at expanding access to cancer medicines while strengthening the company’s U.S. manufacturing and research operations.
The agreement, announced on August 31, 2026, includes BeOne’s participation in the GENEROUS (GENErating cost Reductions fOr U.S. Medicaid) Model and a commitment to price future FDA-approved products in line with prices in other key developed markets.

Expanding Access to Oncology Medicines
Through its participation in the GENEROUS Model, BeOne aims to improve access to oncology medicines for eligible patients in the United States.
The voluntary Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services initiative is designed to reduce prescription drug costs for Medicaid programs by using internationally benchmarked prices and supplemental manufacturer rebates.
Commenting on the agreement, John V. Oyler, Co-Founder, Chairman and CEO of BeOne Medicines, said:

Oyler added that the agreement reflects BeOne’s goal “to reach more patients” while the company continues expanding its U.S. research, development and manufacturing activities.
More Than $1 Billion in U.S. Manufacturing Investment
Alongside the access and pricing commitments, BeOne entered into an onshoring agreement with the U.S. government, securing an exemption from Section 232 pharmaceutical tariffs in recognition of its U.S. manufacturing investments.
The company recently announced an additional $300 million investment in its clinical and commercial-stage manufacturing and R&D facility in Hopewell, New Jersey, bringing its total U.S. manufacturing investment to more than $1 billion.
The expansion is expected to add small-molecule manufacturing capacity and create approximately 120 full-time jobs.
BeOne currently employs more than 2,000 people in the United States. According to the company, it invested approximately $1 billion in U.S. research and development in 2025.
Its oncology pipeline includes more than 35 clinical- and commercial-stage assets, with 93 clinical trials being conducted at approximately 1,100 sites across 45 U.S. states and one territory.
The agreement comes as the U.S. government continues pursuing measures aimed at lowering prescription drug costs while encouraging greater domestic pharmaceutical manufacturing.
