10th Year of the Live for Lily Foundation – Children’s Cancer Institute
Children’s Cancer Institute shared a post on LinkedIn:
“On Saturday June 14, a crowd of 470 gathered at Crown Palladium in Melbourne to celebrate the 10th year of the Live for Lily Foundation and to raise funds for research into childhood cancer research.
Live for Lily funds research into DIPG at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI) and supports Dr Emmy Dolman, the Live for Lily Senior Scientist at Children’s Cancer Institute as well as the Zero Childhood Cancer Program (ZERO). Live For Lily also announced further funding in the coming 3 years, to fund two tissue labs at the Minderoo Children’s Comprehensive Cancer Centre (MCCCC) in Sydney.
The evening was a great success, with the Scotch College Pipe Band welcoming guests, who then heard a heartfelt speech from Lily’s dad Aaron Hester, reflecting on 10 years without Lily and the amazing community that brings hope to other kids with cancer.
Jellis Craig supported the live auction which saw guests bidding for amazing food & wine packages, a remote escape in the Kimberley and a huge golf package. Guests also heard from Associate Professor Paul Ekert from Children’s Cancer Institute about how their funds are making a difference in childhood cancer research, before being wildly entertained by Brazilian drummers and dancers who opened up the dancefloor.
Thanks to all who came along, major sponsors Airport Toyota and the committee members, volunteers, donors and supporters who made the night possible.
Live for Lily holds an annual endurance bike ride to raise funds – and has just opened up registration for the 2026 ACT to MCG. For more details, visit .”
