The Pezcoller–Marina Larcher Fogazzaro–EACR Women in Cancer Research Award 2027 recognizes an outstanding cancer researcher who combines scientific excellence with a demonstrated contribution to advancing women in cancer research, whether through leadership or by example.
The awardee will deliver the Women in Cancer Research Award Lecture at the EACR 2027 Congress, taking place 14–17 June 2027 in Bilbao, Spain, and will also be invited to give a lecture at the Pezcoller Foundation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must: Demonstrate academic excellence and significant achievements in cancer research.
- Have contributed to the advancement of women in cancer research through leadership or by example.
- Have spent at least the last five years working in Europe.
- Currently be employed at a European institution.
- Be nominated by another person; self-nominations are not accepted.
- Not be a current member of the EACR Board.

- Award amount: €10,000
- Type: Honorarium
- The winner will deliver an invited award lecture at the EACR 2027 Congress in Bilbao.
- The winner will also be invited to present at the Pezcoller Foundation.

- Nomination deadline: 18 September 2026
- Nominations are submitted through the EACR online portal.
- The nomination requires a supporting letter of no more than 1,000 words.
