
KWF: Risk-Based Screening – Infrastructure Initiative 2025
The Risk-Based Screening – Infrastructure Initiative 2025 by the Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) supports the development of a dedicated national infrastructure to register and monitor (wo)men and families at high risk for breast cancer. The goal is to enable early identification, personalized screening, and targeted prevention strategies to improve health outcomes for genetically predisposed individuals.
Eligibility Criteria

Nationwide relevance and need for the proposed infrastructure must be demonstrated.

Broad support and collaboration from the oncology community and stakeholders is required.

Projects must collaborate with or build upon existing infrastructures where possible.

Proposals must include long-term sustainability, financial viability, data security plans, and address ethical, legal, and social implications (ELSI).

Applicants must outline staffing, training, and a long-term operational plan for infrastructure maintenance.
Funding Details

Total funding pool: €2–4 million (shared with parallel research call).

Project budget and duration will depend on project scope and review outcomes.

KWF expects funded initiatives to become self-sustainable after the grant period.
