
Damon Runyon Quantitative Biology Fellowship Award
The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2026 Quantitative Biology Fellowship Award, a unique opportunity for exceptional postdoctoral scientists working at the intersection of cancer biology and computational science.
This highly competitive award funds researchers who are tackling computational challenges in cancer using innovative interdisciplinary approaches in both wet lab and dry lab settings.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must:

Hold a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent, with degree conferred between Dec 2, 2020 – Dec 2, 2025

Have joined their Mentors’ labs on or after Dec 2, 2023
-
Be within 24 months of joining both Mentors’ labs
-
Have two Mentors: one computational (dry lab) and one experimental (wet lab)

Award details:

Three-year fellowship totaling $240,000
-
Focused on advancing quantitative biology in cancer research

Research must address a significant computational challenge in the field

Preference given to mentorship teams in close physical proximity

Research proposal (5 pages max) and summary

Statement on computational innovation and methodological challenges (250 words each)

NIH-format biosketches for applicant and both mentors

Joint training plan and mentorship history

Three reference letters (including thesis advisor if applicable)
