ACS Professor Award

The ACS Professor Award is an honorific grant that recognizes individuals at the full professor rank who have made seminal, high-impact contributions to cancer research across a wide range of disciplines, including fundamental, clinical, psychosocial, behavioral, health policy, and epidemiologic fields. The award also acknowledges leadership in scientific mentoring, community engagement, and service to the cancer research community.

Eligibility

Must hold the rank of full professor
Demonstrated history of transformative contributions to cancer research
Commitment to mentoring, scientific leadership, and public engagement
Applicants are expected to serve as ACS ambassadors and spokespeople

Budget and Term

80,000 USD per year for 5 years
Funds may be used at the awardee’s discretion for creative, innovative pursuits in cancer research
No indirect cost rate specified; presumed to be included in the total

Timeline

Letter of Intent (LOI) period: June 1 – September 1, 2025
LOI Deadline: September 1, 2025
Full Application Deadline (by invitation): December 1, 2025
