
NCI Mentored Quantitative Research Career Award
The Mentored Quantitative Research Career Development Award (K25) supports investigators with backgrounds in quantitative sciences and engineering—outside of biology or medicine—who are committed to transitioning into behavioral and biomedical (basic or clinical) cancer research. The K25 enables intensive mentored research and career development in order to establish a strong, independent research program.
Eligibility Criteria

U.S. citizen, noncitizen national, or permanent resident (required at time of award)

Not eligible if on a student visa

Postdoctoral fellows, early-stage investigators, and established investigators from quantitative fields

Must commit at least 9 person months (75% full-time professional effort) to the award
Funding Details

Duration: 3 to 5 years (not renewable)

Salary: Up to $100,000/year + fringe benefits
-
Research Development Support: Up to $50,000/year (covers tuition, fees, supplies, travel, and statistical services)

Indirect costs: 8%
-
No support for mentors, admin, or secretarial staff
