
LUNGevity Foundation Health Equity and Inclusiveness Research Fellow Award
The LUNGevity Foundation is now accepting Letters of Intent for the 2025 Health Equity and Inclusiveness Research Fellow Award, providing $100,000 over two years to support physician-scientists in fellowship training who are committed to improving outcomes for underserved populations affected by lung cancer.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must:

Hold a doctoral degree (MD, PhD, or equivalent)

Be in any year of a fellowship and plan to pursue a career in lung cancer research

Submit a mentoring plan with their application
-
Apply as part of an institution that has not already received this award in the current cycle (only one award per institution)
Funding at a glance:

100,000 total USD ($50,000/year for 2 years)

Milestones must be met annually

Award supports mentored clinical research focused on reducing disparities and improving detection or treatment outcomes in lung cancer
Research focus:
Projects should aim to:

Directly impact early detection or lung cancer outcomes in underserved or underrepresented populations

Build foundational work for targeted therapies, immunotherapy, or individualized treatment strategies

Engage communities facing health disparities in cancer care or outcomes
