The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Molecular Imaging of Inflammation in Cancer R01 Grant supports multidisciplinary research using advanced in vivo molecular imaging to investigate how inflammation and immune processes influence tumor biology, progression, and treatment response.
Projects must combine expertise in cancer biology or immunology with imaging science and use molecular imaging approaches to study inflammatory processes in living systems. Applications may request less than $500,000 in direct costs per year for up to five years, with the next new-application deadline on October 5, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include public and private institutions of higher education.
- Nonprofit organizations with or without 501(c)(3) status may apply.
- Foreign/non-U.S. organizations are not eligible to apply.
- Applications must use a Multiple Principal Investigator model.
- Applications with only one PD/PI are considered non-responsive and will not be reviewed.
- Cost sharing is not required.
