The National Cancer Institute (NCI) Mechanisms that Impact Cancer Risk with Use of Incretin Mimetics R01 Grant supports mechanistic research investigating how drugs such as GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists may increase or decrease cancer risk.
The program is intended for well-developed projects supported by preliminary data and may include preclinical or patient-based studies exploring how incretin mimetics influence cancer biology, immune signaling, metabolism, hormones, inflammatory pathways, and other biological mechanisms. Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include public and private institutions of higher education.
- Nonprofit organizations, with or without 501(c)(3) status, may apply.
- Foreign/non-U.S. organizations are eligible to apply.

- Any investigator with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources may serve as PD/PI.
