The CRI IGNITE Award helps postdoctoral researchers transition into independent careers in cancer immunology. It combines mentored research support with subsequent faculty funding, backed by institutional commitments to research time, laboratory resources and career development.
Eligibility Criteria
- Currently in a mentored postdoctoral position.
- Normally no more than five years of postdoctoral experience; exceptions may be considered.
- Must undertake at least 12 months of mentored research before transitioning.
- Must not have previously held an independent research faculty position.
- Open internationally, without citizenship restrictions.
Funding Details
- Up to $1.05 million across five years:
- Foundation Phase: $150,000 annually for up to two years.
- Independence Phase: $250,000 annually for up to three years.
- The second phase requires an accepted faculty appointment, adequate institutional startup support and at least 65% protected research effort.
