
Damon Runyon Fellowship Award
The Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025 Postdoctoral Fellowship Award, a prestigious four-year program designed to support early-career scientists conducting innovative basic or translational cancer research. This award is one of the most competitive fellowships in cancer science, providing not only generous funding but also mentorship, networking, and debt relief for physician-scientists.
Who is eligible?
Applicants must:

Hold a PhD, MD, DO, DVM, DDS, or equivalent degree

Not have accepted another postdoctoral fellowship award (T32 accepted at time of application, but not concurrently)
-
Work under a Sponsor in a tenured/tenure-track position in the U.S.
-
Apply within 3 years of receiving their doctoral degree (Level 1), or within 2 years of ending clinical training (Level 2)
-
Not continue training in the lab where they earned their PhD or extend their graduate work
-
Submit a complete application via ProposalCentral
Funding at a glance:

Four-year term, contingent on annual progress

Stipend ranges from 70,000 USD to 76,000 USD /year

2,000 USD /year expense allowance

1,000 USD /year per dependent child

Up to 100,000 USD in medical school loan repayment (for MDs)
