KWF: Exploration Call 2025
The Dutch Cancer Society (KWF) Exploration Call supports basic and credentialing research focused on uncovering the underlying mechanisms of cancer onset, growth, and spread, to advance future prevention, diagnosis, and treatment strategies.
Eligibility Criteria

Open to researchers conducting projects within the Basic Research (phase 1) or Credentialing (phase 2) stages.

All cancer types are eligible.

Projects spanning multiple phases must select the phase that best reflects the study’s primary objective.

Participating institutes must be registered in the KWF Grant Management System (KWF-GMS) at least 6 weeks before the call closing date.

Submission of both a pre-proposal and full proposal is required.
Funding Details

Project budgets will align with standard KWF guidelines (specific budget caps not specified for this call).

Funding supports basic scientific studies without a direct application focus (Basic Research) or early-phase discovery and validation (Credentialing Research).
