The Canadian Association of Medical Oncologists (CAMO) 2027 Fellowship Program supports physicians completing medical oncology training in Canada who want to pursue additional clinical and/or fundamental research experience. The program aims to strengthen research capacity in medical oncology and support future academic careers.
The 2027 competition includes the general CAMO Fellowship and the K. Jill Rigby Foundation/CAMO Fellowship, which focuses on less-researched and rarer types of breast cancer. CAMO
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be Canadian citizens or landed immigrants.
- Applicants must hold a medical degree and FRCPC in Internal Medicine.
- Applicants must be in their final year of a Royal College-certified Medical Oncology training program.
- Applicants must be CAMO associate members.
- First-year fellows may be considered for an additional year of training.
- Applicants must identify at least one active CAMO member as a supervisor.
- Research must focus on solid tumors.

- Funding: Up to CAD $105,000
- Duration: 1 year
- Annual stipend: Up to $100,000
- Research allowance: $5,000

- The K. Jill Rigby Foundation/CAMO Fellowship focuses on less-researched breast cancers, including triple-negative, lobular, ER-negative/HER2-low, histiocytic, and other rare histological types.

- Projects are assessed based on scientific merit, feasibility, originality, translational potential, and potential impact on patient care.
