The Conquer Cancer Career Development Award in Ovarian Cancer provides mentored research funding to clinical investigators who have received their initial faculty appointment and are working to establish an independent research career focused on ovarian cancer.
The proposed project must have a patient-oriented clinical research focus involving human participants. Eligible areas include clinical and translational research, epidemiology, behavioural studies, health-services research, outcomes research, and quality-of-care research. Projects focused predominantly on in vitro experiments or animal studies are not eligible. Applications are accepted from investigators working in the United States and internationally.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Applicants must be physicians holding an MD, DO, or international equivalent and may work in any country.
- Applicants must be in the first through fourth year of a full-time primary faculty appointment in a clinical department at an academic medical institution when the application is submitted.
- Applicants must have completed productive postdoctoral research and demonstrated the ability to conduct independent, investigator-initiated clinical research in ovarian cancer.
- Applicants must commit at least 50% of their overall professional time to research during the award period.
- Previous recipients of training fellowships, including the Young Investigator Award or an F32 fellowship, may apply.
- First-year faculty members eligible for both the Young Investigator Award and Career Development Award may submit to only one of the programs during the same cycle.
- There are no general citizenship or geographic restrictions, although applicants must have sufficient visa status to complete the project at the sponsoring institution.
Funding Details:
- The total award amount is USD 200,000 over three years.
- Funding is paid in annual instalments of approximately USD 66,666.
- One Career Development Award in Ovarian Cancer is expected to be funded.
- At least 80% of the current reporting year’s budget should be spent before the next annual instalment is released.

- Projects must focus on ovarian cancer and involve patient-oriented clinical or translational research with human participants; predominantly laboratory-based or animal studies are not eligible.
- A patient advocate must participate in developing the proposal and provide a letter confirming their involvement and planned role.
