California Breast Cancer Research Program Postdoctoral Fellowship

The California Breast Cancer Research Program (CBCRP) Postdoctoral Fellowship supports postdoctoral researchers at California institutions pursuing breast cancer research under the guidance of an experienced mentor. The award is intended to stabilize early-career research training during federal funding disruptions and to accelerate impactful breast cancer research in California. A Letter of Intent (LOI) is required before submitting a full application.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Employed as a postdoctoral fellow (or equivalent) at a California institution.
  • Holds or expects to hold a doctoral degree (Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent) by the award start date.
  • Proposed project aligns with CBCRP Priority Areas and is breast cancer-focused.
  • PI devotes 75% FTE to the project.
  • U.S. citizenship is not required.
  • Mentor is full-time faculty with recent breast cancer research experience or collaboration.
  • Research conducted primarily in California.

Funding Details:

  • Up to USD 70,000 stipend/salary annually.
  • Allowable expenses may include insurance, supplies, travel.
  • Up to 2 years.
  • Indirect costs (F&A) are not allowed.
  • Expected award start date: August 1, 2026.
