BC Cancer and the University of British Columbia (UBC) are inviting applications for a one-year Clinical Research Radiation Oncology Fellowship at the Abbotsford Centre, beginning July 1, 2026 (with flexibility on start date). The program offers fellows hands-on clinical experience and the opportunity to lead innovative radiation therapy research projects within a comprehensive provincial cancer care system.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must be physicians trained in Radiation Oncology, qualified to practice as specialists in their home country.

Must demonstrate basic or clinical research experience supported by publications or research involvement.

Must be eligible for an educational license from the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.

Non-native English speakers must meet IELTS academic requirements (minimum score of 7 in each component).

Preference will be given to candidates who completed residency in Radiation Oncology within the last 3 years.
Funding Details:

The fellowship is fully funded through June 30, 2027.

Fellows will divide their time between clinical activities and research.

Research opportunities include RT technical innovations such as brachytherapy, stereotactic ablative radiotherapy, and population-based outcomes studies using provincial data.

Fellows will be registered as post-graduate trainees with UBC.
