The Young Investigator Award (YIA) supports promising early-career physicians transitioning from fellowship to faculty positions. This mentored grant promotes high-quality research in clinical oncology across specific focus areas such as survivorship, supportive care, geriatric oncology, and drug development.
Eligibility Criteria:

Must be a physician (MD, DO, or international equivalent); MD/PhD eligible if both degrees completed before award start.

In the final two years of oncology subspecialty training or within three months post-completion at the time of application.

Within 10 years of earning their medical degree (exceptions for international graduates).

Must plan an investigative career in oncology and hold an active medical license in the research country.

Must work in an oncology laboratory or clinical research setting with a mentor in the proposed field.

Must be an ASCO member or have submitted membership with the application.

Must dedicate at least 60% of total professional effort to research during the award term.
Funding Details:

Total award: 50,000 USD for one year.

Funds may be used for personnel, research expenses, and travel to the ASCO Annual Meeting.
