Eligibility Criteria:

Doctoral degree required by the award activation date.

Research conducted under a sponsor with an assistant professor (or higher) appointment at a non-profit host institution (U.S. or abroad); no citizenship restrictions.

Project must be hypothesis-driven in fundamental immunology or tumor immunology and relevant to solving the cancer problem.

Ineligible if you will have 5+ years of mentored research at activation (M.D. residency years excluded from this count).

Applicants who have already spent 3+ years in the sponsor’s lab by fellowship start are rarely considered.

Only 1 applicant per sponsor per round; a sponsor may not have more than 3 CRI-supported fellows at any time.

Funding Details:

Duration: 3 years.

Annual stipend: Year 1 USD 74,000; Year 2 USD 76,000; Year 3 USD 78,000.

Institutional allowance: USD 5,000 per year (e.g., research supplies, conference travel, health insurance, childcare).

Additional support to attend the CRI Bioinformatics Bootcamp.

No administrative/indirect costs may be taken from the stipend or allowance.
