A 4–6 month travel award for Latin American, Spanish, and Portuguese MSc/PhD trainees or postdocs to conduct collaborative research in a SickKids Cell Biology Program laboratory. Supports international research exposure, mentorship, and career development.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicant (all must be met):
- 
Master’s or PhD student, or postdoctoral fellow at a university/research institute in Latin America, Spain, or Portugal.

Citizenship from Mexico, Central/South America, Spain, or Portugal.
 - 
Maintain active enrollment/appointment at home institution for full award period.
 - 
Agree to obtain/hold membership in a scientific society (e.g., PABMB member societies).

Host Supervisor (at SickKids):
- 
Must be a member of the Cell Biology Program (Scientist/Associate/Senior Scientist/Track).
 - 
Must commit to providing travel health insurance for the visit.
 
 - 
 
Funding Details:
- 
CAD $15,000 to support travel and accommodation for a 4–6 month visit to a SickKids Cell Biology Program lab.
 - 
Host provides travel health insurance (~$300 estimate).
 - 
Admin notes: awardees must submit an Award Acceptance Form within 2 months; acknowledge the award in outputs; provide a 1-page end-of-award brief; send a thank-you note to donors.
 - 
Visa: awardees must secure a Canadian visitor visa and/or eTA as applicable.
 - 
Start window: must commence within 12 months of award notification.
