
Cancer Research Institute Immuno-Informatics Postdoctoral Fellowship
This fellowship supports early-career scientists to receive dual training at the interface of cancer immunology and computational biology/data science, building skills to drive next-generation immunotherapy discovery at nonprofit academic research institutions worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria:

Project criteria: Hypothesis-driven basic or translational work in immunology or cancer immunology that leverages innovative technologies and/or computational methods (e.g., high-throughput omics, advanced data analyses) to address clear gaps in the field.

Training plan: Proposal should specify new skills to be gained in immunology and/or computational biology, with a secondary co-mentor recommended to fill knowledge gaps.

Applicant: Doctoral degree by award activation; working in areas directly related to immunology or cancer immunology; ≤5 years of relevant postdoctoral experience at activation (MDs do not count residency years).

Sponsor/host: Primary sponsor must hold at least assistant professor rank at a nonprofit institution (U.S. or abroad). Only one fellow per sponsor per round; a sponsor may have no more than three CRI-supported fellows at any time.

Prior time in lab: Generally not eligible if ≥3 years in the sponsor’s lab by fellowship start (rare exceptions).

Citizenship/location: No citizenship restrictions; fellowship must be performed at a nonprofit institution.

Pre-screening: Applicants must answer an eligibility questionnaire in the portal before accessing the application.
Funding Details:

Term: Up to 3 years.

Stipend: Year 1: USD 74,000; Year 2: USD 76,000; Year 3: USD 78,000.

Institutional allowance: USD 5,000 per year to the host institution for research supplies, meeting travel, health insurance, and/or childcare at the sponsor’s discretion.

Additional support: CRI provides separate support to attend the International Cancer Immunotherapy Conference (CICON) and to participate in CRI’s Bioinformatics Bootcamp.

Payments/overhead: Paid monthly in U.S. currency to the host institution; no administrative/overhead deductions allowed from either the stipend or the allowance.

Standard cycles: March 1 and September 1 annually (due the next business day if the date falls on a weekend/holiday) by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time; decisions in ~14–16 weeks.
