
2026 St. Baldrick’s Foundation Fellowship Award
The 2026 St. Baldrick’s Foundation Fellowship Award supports outstanding pediatric oncology fellows at U.S. institutions to pursue two years of mentored research training, with the possibility of a third year based on progress. Fellows receive salary and benefits funding to drive discovery, translational studies, and early‐phase clinical trials in childhood cancer.
Eligibility:

Hold an M.D. or D.O. and be in their 2nd or 3rd year of an American Board of Pediatrics–accredited Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship at a U.S. academic or non-profit research institution.

Have a dedicated fellowship mentor (or co-mentor) with a track record in pediatric oncology research.

Not hold an independent NIH R- or P-series award or individual F/K award; institutional training grants (K12, T32) are permitted.

Institutions may only submit one new fellowship application per cycle, except one additional application focused on select rare tumor types (e.g., brain tumors, Burkitt lymphoma, extrarenal rhabdoid tumors).

Be prepared to devote 100% of fellowship time to research (clinical duties supported separately).
Funding Details:

Award amount: Up to 97,500 USD /year (salary + fringe benefits only; no indirect costs).

Duration: 2 years with an option for a 3rd year (subject to progress review).

Use of funds: Fellow salary and benefits; no travel, equipment, or overhead.
