
International Development and Education Award (IDEA) & IDEA–Palliative Care (IDEA-PC)
Supports early-career oncologists (IDEA) and oncologists or palliative care specialists (IDEA-PC) from low- and middle-income countries (LMCs) with mentorship by senior ASCO members, attendance at the ASCO Annual Meeting, and a post-meeting observership at a U.S. mentor’s institution to strengthen cancer and palliative care practice in their home countries.
Eligibility Criteria:

Early-career oncologists (IDEA) or oncologists/palliative care specialists (IDEA-PC) practicing in LMCs

Demonstrated commitment to improving cancer or palliative care locally

Support from home institution to implement learnings upon return
Funding Details:

Mentorship: One-on-one pairing with a senior ASCO member

Meeting Support: Registration, travel, and lodging for ASCO Annual Meeting

Observership: 1-week visit to mentor’s U.S. institution post-meeting

ASCO Membership: Complimentary membership for 3 years, including print and online access to Journal of Clinical Oncology

Knowledge-Sharing Expectation: Recipients will conduct educational activities at home institutions upon return
