
ASTRO-ACS Clinician Scientist Development Grant
The ASTRO-ACS Clinician Scientist Development Grant co-funded by the American Cancer Society and the American Society for Radiation Oncology supports radiation oncology clinicians in launching independent research careers. Awardees maintain clinical practice while receiving protected research time, mentorship, and funding to become leaders in translational cancer research.
Eligibility Criteria:

Full-time faculty appointment at a U.S. academic institution or eligible non-profit

Doctoral or terminal degree in a relevant field, active clinical license, and ongoing patient care; board-certified medical physicists are eligible

Special encouragement for applicants from underrepresented racial/ethnic groups and individuals with disabilities
-
No prior role as PI on an individual mentored training grant (e.g., K08/K23)
-
No prior R-level or equivalent grant as PI
-
Must join ASTRO before grant activation
Funding Details:

Duration: 3–5 years

Annual Direct Costs: $135,000

Indirect Costs: 8% of direct costs

Standard CSDG Cycles: June 1 and December 1 annually (apply via ProposalCentral)
