American Cancer Society Professor Award
The ACS Professor Award recognizes full professors whose seminal contributions across fundamental, preclinical, clinical, psychosocial, behavioral, health policy, or epidemiologic cancer research have transformed the field and who demonstrate outstanding leadership, mentorship, and community engagement.
Eligibility Criteria:

Academic Rank: Must hold the rank of full professor at the time of application.

Research Impact: Demonstrated past achievements and a trajectory of continued innovation that has—or promises to—change the direction of cancer research in any of the following areas:

Fundamental biology
-
Preclinical studies
-
Clinical investigation
-
Psychosocial or behavioral science
-
Health policy or epidemiology

Leadership & Mentorship: Proven commitment and success in mentoring trainees and leading scientific teams.

Engagement: Active involvement in outreach or community initiatives related to cancer research.
Funding Details:

Award Amount: Up to $80,000 USD per year
-
Duration: 5 years
-
Use of Funds: Discretionary support to pursue creative, innovative projects or initiatives in cancer research.

Expectations: ACS Professors serve as ambassadors for the Society and the broader cancer research community.
