
Cancer Institute NSW: Research Fellowships
The Research Fellowships scheme from Cancer Institute NSW offers Early Career and Career Development Fellowships to support outstanding cancer researchers in building independent research teams at NSW research organisations.
Fellowship Levels & Eligibility

Early Career Fellowship (0–5 years post-PhD): Early-career researchers with emerging track records and leadership potential
-
Career Development Fellowship (5–10 years post-PhD): Mid-career researchers with established achievements and capacity for high-impact cancer research
Applicants must:

Be based at an eligible research organisation in NSW
-
Conduct research in any cancer-relevant discipline
Objectives

Advance early and mid-career researcher development in research and leadership skills

Promote team-based research and cross-institutional collaborations

Fund innovative and novel cancer research with significant potential outcomes
Two-Stage Application Process

Expression of Interest (EOI)

Submit EOI via the Grants Management System (GMS)

Shortlisted candidates invited to full application

Full Application

Complete full proposal via GMS upon invitation

Reporting Requirements
Successful fellows must submit progress and final reports, including financial statements, per the Competitive Grants Agreement schedule.
