Singapore’s Healthy and Meaningful Longevity initiative (Phase 2 of the National Innovation Challenge on Active & Confident Ageing) funds multidisciplinary applied research to extend healthspan, strengthen cognitive health, and scale community innovations for seniors.
Eligibility Criteria:

Principal Investigator: Must hold an MD/MBBS/BDS or PhD (or equivalent), be employed and salaried at a Singapore public hospital, AMC, PHI, or public university for at least nine months per year, and commit to six months’ residency in Singapore annually.

Career Stage: Early‐career or transitioning to independent investigator with demonstrated research track record and no outstanding national‐grant reports.

Host Institution: Supported by a local research group and supervisor; short‐term external placements must be fully justified.

Patient Studies: PI or Co‐investigator must be SMC‐registered or show access via an SMC‐registered collaborator.
Funding Streams & Focus:

Translation Grant: Supports scale-up of proven senior-care solutions through large-scale testbeds to evaluate implementation barriers, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability at population scale.

Cognition Grant: Funds projects addressing dementia and cognitive decline—early detection, integrated care pathways, and caregiver support—to reduce undiagnosed cases and care burdens.

Healthy Longevity Catalyst Awards (HLCA): Seed grants (USD 50 000–100 000 equivalent) to spark bold, early-stage ideas in healthy ageing; awardees join a global cohort and Innovator Summit.

Future Seniors Grant: Leverages existing cohort data to map life-course ageing trajectories and understand future seniors’ challenges and aspirations for targeted policy interventions.
