
NMRC Clinical Trials Grant (CTG)
The NMRC Clinical Trials Grant (CTG) empowers Singapore clinician scientists to advance novel therapies, diagnostics, and interventions through two schemes: Industry-Collaborative Trials (CTG-ICT) and Investigator-Initiated Trials (CTG-IIT). Funding catalyzes locally relevant, high-impact clinical research addressing national health priorities.
Eligibility Criteria:

Principal Investigator:
-
Clinically qualified (MD/MBBS/BDS) or registered pharmacist meeting HSA PI requirements.

Holds a primary appointment and salary at a Singapore public hospital, AMC, PHI, or public university.

Independent researcher with competitive funding or strong publication record.

Employed ≥ 9 months/year locally and commits to full-time residency in Singapore each grant year.

No outstanding reports from previous NMRC, NRF, or BMRC grants.

For patient trials: PI or Co-I must be SMC-registered or demonstrate patient access via SMC-registered collaborators.

Funding Details:

CTG-ICT (Industry-Collaborative Trials):
-
Quantum: Up to S$4.94 M per project (inclusive of 30% indirect costs), up to 5 years.

Requirement: ≥ 70% industry contribution (cash or in-kind) toward Total Project Costs; draft RCA uploaded at LOI.

Use of Funds: NMRC covers up to 30% of TPC; remaining funded by industry partner.

CTG-IIT (Investigator-Initiated Trials):

Quantum: Up to S$1.625 M per project (inclusive of 30% indirect costs), up to 5 years.

Requirement: No minimum industry contribution (industry-backed proposals prioritized).

Use of Funds: Supports early- and late-phase trials driven by clinician investigators.

Research Themes: Open to all areas; tie-breaker priority given to cancers, cardiovascular, eye, infection, mental health, metabolic/endocrine, and neurological conditions. Additional foci include rare-disease networks, early-phase oncology/cardiology trials, geriatric pharmacology, precision medicine, digital health, and RWD-enabled studies.

CTG-ICT: Open until August 1, 2025, 5 PM SGT (or until funds are exhausted). Submit anytime; LOI → Full Proposal upon shortlist.

CTG-IIT: July 1 – August 1, 2025, 5 PM SGT via RGP. Two calls/year (Jan & Jul).
