Fondation ARC Individual Grants for Young Researchers – Postdoctoral Fellow in France
Fondation ARC supports early- and mid-career scientists to pursue postdoctoral cancer research in France—funding full-time fellowships (24–36 months) covering salary and employer contributions through two tailored schemes: the Young Postdoctoral Fellow grant (PDF1) and the Experienced Postdoctoral Fellow grant (PDF2).
Eligibility Criteria
PDF1 – Young Postdoctoral Fellow

PhD awarded ≤12 months before funding start (defended after 1 Oct 2024 for Spring 2025; after 1 Apr 2025 for Autumn 2025).

Host lab in France, different from thesis lab; mandatory change of research structure; thematic evolution recommended.

≥1 first-author paper accepted or under revision in a peer-reviewed journal (editor’s acknowledgment required).

Start date within 12 months of PhD defense or arrival in host lab; exceptions for major life events reviewed case-by-case.
PDF2 – Experienced Postdoctoral Fellow

PhD awarded 2–7 years prior (defended between 1 Oct 2018 and 1 Apr 2019); ≥24 months prior postdoc abroad.

Host lab in France; previous lab abroad.

≥1 first-author paper from previous postdoc accepted or under revision (editor’s acknowledgment required).

Start date within 2–7 years of PhD defense and ≤12 months of arrival in host lab; life-event exceptions case-by-case.

Salary: Fixed-term full-time CDD contract paid to employer; employer contributions included.

PDF1: Up to €4 767 /month (≈ €57 204 /year)

PDF2: Up to €6 417 /month (≈ €77 004 /year)

Employer: CNRS, INSERM, university or approved non-profit health/research body in France.

No Equipment or Overhead: Funds cover salary only; institutions must verify full cost coverage or arrange co-funding.
