
MAKNA Cancer Research Collaboration Fund
MAKNA’s Collaboration Fund supports established Malaysian researchers with specialist or PhD qualifications to advance patient-centred cancer research—providing up to RM 300,000 per project through institutional partnerships.
Eligibility Criteria:

Malaysian citizen with a medical specialist degree or PhD from a recognised public/private institution, holding a permanent or fixed-term contract covering the grant period.

Projects must address themes in cancer prevention (behavioural science; biomarkers/early detection) or treatment (precision medicine).

Research to be conducted in Malaysia; institutional endorsement and plagiarism report (Turnitin) required.

Each institution may nominate up to two applications for MAKNA review.
Funding Details:

Amount: Up to RM 300,000 per project

Duration: Up to 2 years

Use of Funds: Salaries for technical personnel; reagents/consumables; equipment; training; miscellaneous research costs.

Management & Reporting: Quarterly financial and progress reports; biannual vetting-committee reviews; final scientific and financial reports due within 6 weeks of completion.
