Funds the Director and Deputy Director to lead the Melanoma Research Program’s virtual Melanoma Academy—an interactive career-development platform that mentors early-career melanoma investigators through networking, workshops, and collaborative pilot projects over a four-year period.
Eligibility Criteria:

Organizations: Extramural or intramural U.S. or foreign academic institutions, biotechnology companies, foundations, DOD laboratories, and other public or private entities (for-profit and non-profit).

Principal Investigators: Two PIs—an Initiating PI (Academy Director) and a Partnering PI (Deputy Director)—each an independent, established melanoma researcher at or above the Associate Professor level with a track record of melanoma funding, publications, and mentoring.

Other Requirements: No citizenship restrictions; applicants must not concurrently serve as Career Guides on Scholar Award applications. Cost sharing is not required.
Funding Details:

Amount: Combined total‐cost cap of 1.82 USD million (direct + indirect) over up to 4 years.

Use of Funds: Planning and hosting annual one-day and biennial multi-day Academy workshops; virtual-academy infrastructure; travel to milestone meetings; support for cross-disciplinary collaborations; no clinical-trial costs or tuition.

Payment: Quarterly in U.S. dollars to each PI’s institution; each PI receives a separate award.
