
CRI Clinical Innovator Grant
The CRI Clinical Innovator Grant supports clinician-scientists who wish to launch innovative phase I/II or phase II immunotherapy clinical studies. Funds are awarded to trials addressing high unmet need in cancer and generating mechanistic insights into patient response, with the goal of identifying predictive biomarkers. Selected studies receive coordinated CRI advice on trial design, translational research, and data sharing.
Eligibility Criteria:

Principal Investigator: Applicant must be the PI of the proposed clinical study.

Institution Type: Research may be conducted at nonprofit medical schools or research centers—U.S. or abroad. For-profit institutions are not eligible.

Citizenship: No restrictions.
Funding Details:

Award Amount: Up to $1 million USD per trial.

Use of Funds: Salary support, supplies, patient costs, correlative assays, data analysis, and related expenses.

Payment Structure: Funds disbursed in milestone-based installments to ensure trial progress and completion.

Invited applicants will receive instructions and a separate deadline for full protocol submission.
Award Terms and Conditions:

All awardees must comply with CRI’s policies as approved by the Board of Trustees. CRI will not negotiate individual policy changes with institutions
