
Postdoctoral Fellowships for Training in Cancer Research – IARC
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) offers two-year postdoctoral fellowships in Lyon, France, to support advanced research on cancer etiology, prevention, and global burden. Fellows receive a monthly stipend, travel support, and access to IARC’s multidisciplinary scientific network.
Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must hold a PhD in a relevant field (e.g., biology, epidemiology, public health, medicine).

Research proposals should focus on cancer etiology/mechanisms (infections, nutrition, lifestyle, environment, radiation, genetics), cancer prevention strategies (primary prevention, screening, implementation research), describing the global cancer burden, or evaluating carcinogenicity/preventive interventions.

Fellowships are tenable only at IARC’s headquarters in Lyon, France.

No nationality restrictions—all countries of origin are eligible.

Applicants must be available to undertake full-time research at IARC for the two-year period.
Funding Details:

Duration: 24 months (second year is contingent upon satisfactory appraisal).

Monthly Stipend: €2,950 (net).

Travel Costs: Round-trip airfare for the awardee (and, in some cases, dependants).

Allowances: Dependents and health insurance allowances, if applicable.
