Cancer Council WA Research Excellence Awards

The Research Excellence Awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of Western Australia’s leading cancer researchers across all disciplines, recognizing their contributions to cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and care.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Open to researchers in any area of cancer-related research

  • Applicants must be based in Western Australia

  • Three award categories:

    • Early Career Cancer Researcher of the Year

    • Cancer Researcher of the Year

    • Professor Bruce Armstrong Research Career Achievement Award

Funding Details:

  • Early Career Cancer Researcher of the Year: AUD 10,000

  • Cancer Researcher of the Year: AUD 20,000

  • Professor Bruce Armstrong Award: AUD 20,000

  • Funds must be applied to a cancer research area of interest

Deadline:

  • Nominations open: 16 July 2025

  • Deadline: 5 November 2025 at 4:00 PM

  • Outcome notification: February–March 2026
