
HFSP Long-Term Fellowships 2026
The HFSP Long-Term Fellowships (LTF) provide an exceptional opportunity for early postdoctoral researchers in the life sciences to carry out novel, frontier research in a new country and research environment. Administered by the International Human Frontier Science Program Organization (HFSPO), these prestigious fellowships support adventurous research projects that challenge existing paradigms and foster international collaboration.

Funding Duration: 3 years (36 months)

Research Area: Basic, fundamental life science research

Award Includes: Competitive living allowance, child allowance, relocation costs, and research/travel allowance

Application Process: Two-step submission (Letter of Intent due by 15 May 2025, Full Proposal by 25 September 2025 for invited applicants)
Eligibility:

Applicants must have a PhD in the life sciences (or equivalent)

Must change both country and research topic from PhD work

At least one first-author research publication in a peer-reviewed journal

Must not have worked or studied in the proposed host country for more than 12 months by fellowship activation
